Hand In Hand provides transportation services based on various contracts in Venango County.
RIDE Program
Hand In Hand is one of several contracted agencies to provide transportation services to help fill gaps left in Venango County transportation, such as transportation outside the time frames or geographical areas of the public bus.
The RIDE Program is a temporary transportation service, offered to those in need who meet the qualifications set by Venango County Community Support Services (CSS), with expectations that the rider will obtain permanent, reliable transportation of their own or with co-workers.
Common uses of this program include:
- Adults who are employed in the community and are in need of transportation in order to get or keep their jobs.
- Adults who are involved in services offered by Venango County Human Services.
- Adults who are enrolled in college and in need of transportation to keep their enrollment.
- Adults, youth or children as referred by Venango County CSS.
Note: The RIDE Program is a transportation option of last resort. Eligible riders must exhaust all other possible ways of getting rides before using the program.
All referrals for this program start at Venango County CSS, located at 1 Dale Avenue, Franklin, PA 16323.

Care Cab
Hand In Hand is contracted with UPMC Northwest to provide transportation for people who need rides home from the hospital when they have no other way to get home. Hospitals draw in patients from many different communities, and then the patients get stranded when it comes time to leave the hospital and go home. It might be because their discharge is outside the times when the public transportation is in operation, or the person might not have family or friends with means to be able to come and get them.
All referrals come from the supervisor or director of the hospital department and the hospital staff make the calls directly to the Driver Coordinator to set up the rides. This is not done by the patient. Again, it is transportation of last resort.
Single event or regularly contracted transportation for other community programs
Hand In Hand also provides transportation for other community programs, either as a one-time ride, special community events, or an ongoing need. These are set up through individual contacts or through Venango County Community Support Services, or the local Chamber of Commerce.
Hand In Hand has 15 passenger vans as well as mini-vans and Drivers for transportation use. Contact the Hand In Hand Office at 814-432-4280 if you want to discuss transportation options for your event, service, or special need.
